Richard B. Smith, DDS

Dr. Smith is uniquely qualified as a prosthodontist and implant surgeon. ​​​After ​receiving his dental degree from New York University college of Dentistry, he completed a general practice residency at Booth Memorial Medical Center (now NY Hospital, Queens). He then went on to complete his specialty ​t​raining in prosthodontics ​also at NYUCD. D​r. Smith later returned to NYUCD for an additional four years, obtaining ​advanced surgical training as a fellow in their postgraduate ​dental implant​ program.

He is a former associate clinical professor in the Department​s of ​Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry at NYUCD​ and at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. ​He is the former director of the periodontal-prosthetics residency program at New York Hospital Queens. Dr. Smith is past president of the Northeast Gnathological Society Academy of Multidisciplinary Dentistry and continues to serve on the academy’s board of directors.

Dr. Smith lecture​s extensively, both nationally and internationally​. ​H​e has had numerous articles published in ​the dental literature​ and has contributed to multiple texts in the field of dental implants. His original research, published in peer reviewed dental journals, continues to guide his practice of implant dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Smith enjoys his passion for music, playing drums in a rock and roll band hoping to achieve a mega level of fame and fortune. Hope is fading.
